Pharos 150 Drive 3 5 Inch Touchscreen TTS Portable GPS Unit Pink

The Pharos Drive GPS 150 makes it easy to keep your eyes on the road when looking for a specific address with voice prompts and turn-by-turn spoken instructions that include name of the street or highway (Text-to-Speech technology). The large 3.5″ color touch screen LCD clearly displays the preloaded U.S. street level maps and navigation routing.preferences in mind.

2 Stars It’s NO Garmin
While this GPS works fine, it is NO GARMIN!
I realize that I paid quite a bit less for this, but it is not NEARLY as user friendly as the Garmin is.
I gave this to my partner for her birthday. She struggled to use it, as it doesn’t obey all commands, is difficult to navigate thru the screens, etc.
I received a Garmin GPS for Christmas.
WOW! Mine puts hers to shame…and me too…as I gave it for a gift.
5 Stars More than expected
This unit is packed with features. Many more than a different brand I bought earlier this year. The cost is amazing for the features. I have learned that GPS’s are not perfect, this one takes a few minutes to get started, but they all have a few quirks. So far it has been reliable and accurate. Recommended.
5 Stars Good Value Priced GPS
I received the Pharos Drive GPS 150 as a gift, and figured out what a deal my friend got on it. For the cost of lower-quality or obsolete models floating around, the Pharos 150 is a fairly good GPS unit featuring Destinator v7 software and Q4 2006 maps and points of interest. Destinator has a fairly simple learning curve, that most people will figure out after a half hour of playing with it, and a few trial trips. It’s quick and simple to program in custom locations, and the turn-by-turn navigation is pretty good. The interface is easier with a stylus (one is included with the unit), though it’s definitely possible to use with fingertips.
Like most GPS units, you’ll have to use your own common sense when choosing the best route for you, but the Pharos GPS 150 does a great job of getting you in the general vicinity of an address or waypoint. It offers good 2D & 3D maps for manual navigation, and is indispensable when darkness, distance or bad weather make reading roadsigns difficult. The voice-to-text is fairly good, giving clear turn-by-turn instructions with advanced warning. It’s also quick to recalculate routes, when you make a change, miss a turn or hit a detour. I’ve gotten adequate signals in some dense woods or heavy fog, that would have rendered my older hand-held consumer Garmin units inoperable.
It lacks real-time traffic and construction information, it won’t accept coordinates (geocaching is out), and the default maps and points of interest are from late 2006 – but all the other features definitely make it an overall good value. Although I could load other GPS software (which voids the warranty), it was laborious to continuously circumvent the ROM that rewrites any changes to the autoexec. But, I genuinely like Destinator, after becoming familiar with it. The Pharos Drive GPS 150 is comparable to GPS units that cost a bit more. The lower cost makes you feel a more at-ease, leaving it in your glovebox or a bag. I’m definitely satisfied with using the Pharos 150 for street navigation, and appreciate the low cost.
4 Stars Pleasantly surprised: good GPS for little $$$
After a year’s use, I’m still pleased with the Pharos 150 GPS.
I mount it in various cars with a matching pair of 3″ long self-adhesive Velcro strips stuck to the bottom edge. This GPS receives the satellite signal well enough to work dependably when positioned below the top of the dash and in front of the transparent instrument cluster or atop the steering column a few inches toward the driver from the instrument cluster… easy to see when driving and less obvious to potential thieves in parking lots.
.
Maps have been reasonably accurate; it seldom gives me erroneous directions. Easy to use.
.
For night driving, I turn the brightness down to 10% (annoying to do each time because it resets to 100% when turned off/on and it takes several separate button pushes.) It’d be better to simply have a neutral density (grey) transparent plastic filter to attach at night with Velco to the display: that’d be faster, have better light-reduction, and be easier to use.
Amazon is selling a great product at this price point!
4 Stars Good for money
I have this GPS since 2 months, and quite satisfied with it. The only concern is it does not show up the battery life. and dont show up the option to exclude the toll root.
its good for money $90.

5 Stars Love it!
This case is a perfect match for my pink garmin. The inside is made of a soft material to keep it from scratching the LCD screen.
5 Stars Works Great with Nuvi 250
I bought this for a friend who had recently purchased a Garmin Nuvi 250. She want a carrying case to protect the unit, but also like the style that came with the unit being pink inside. It met all the requirements she was after. I would highly recommend it for anyone who likes to carry their Nuvi with them in a purse or backpack.
5 Stars Great fit!
The case has a nice snug fit so as to keep the unit from sliding out when not in use. Highly recommended!
5 Stars Perfect fit
I picked this up a few days after getting the pink Garmin Nuvi 250 for a steal in a Lightning Deal. It slides right in, protects the screen in my bag, and masks what it is when I leave it in my car console so people won’t know what they’d be stealing if they were to bust into my car…
5 Stars Stylish, yet very functional – A must have.
I purchased a pink Garmin Nuvi 250 and this case is an excellent accent which provides protection while being fashionable all at the same time. This case fits my GPS snuggly, protecting it from any scratches, while allowing it to fit into my purse for easy transport. The case is not too tight where you have to struggle to get the GPS unit out, but rather just snug enough to hold the unit securely in place. The only thing that you need to be aware of when using this case is that the power button on the Garmin Nuvi 250 must remain outside of the covered part of the case, otherwise the unit will be turned on when placed in the case. This isn’t an inconvenience, but you just have to be aware of the presence of the button when attempting to remove the unit from the case, otherwise you can potentially do damage to the GPS if not careful. Overall, I love this case and would recommend it to anyone who needs a way to protect their GPS unit. This case is very well made and far exceeded my expectations. The low price is a huge, added benefit, especially since I shopped around for this case, and even with shipping, you can’t beat this price in any store.

5 Stars Great carry case
If you have a Garmin and are female, this is perfect. I was carrying it around in a ziploc as to not scratch the screen. I love this carry case. It fits like a glove so the Garmin will not slide out and keeps it safe in my purse. I would highly recommend it esp. paying a high price for the system, you want to keep it nice.
